Creating a Lasting Brand Identity
Full Brand Identity Package
To say that the work, craftsmanship, and inventory at Classic Car Studio is impressive would be a gross understatement. The team at CCS has been producing the most killer automotive creations since 2006. Brevity worked with these automotive artists to craft two brands that represent their high-level of quality, service, and personal touch. This package includes a brand identity for Classic Car Studio, and the Speed Shop.

Foundational Brand Elements
Our design team started this identity project with the parent brand, Classic Car Studio, first. Laying this foundation allowed us to have a visual style guide to build the subsequent brand upon when the time came. After many sketches, concepts, and inspiration sessions, we started to focus on a type-based mark that took design cues from classic car elements.
Inspired by Industry Design
The “CCS” that we finally landed on was representative of the vents on the side of classic muscle cars like a 1967 Ford Mustang. Using these shapes and angles created a theme for the rest of the brand materials to come. The angles carry over to web design interface elements, printed pieces, and even the type treatment for our coined tagline for the Studio, “Vintage & Quickage.”


Brand Identity Guidelines
Once we had the base brand identity created, we could start work on the Speed Shop materials. We knew that this brand needed to be dynamic and adaptable to represent the wide variety of automotive works of art that the Speed Shop team creates. We created a type treatment and guidelines for this brand, somewhat different from a regular identity. This branding project became more of a style guide and a system rather than a traditional logo. We put together guidelines for typography, icons, illustrations, and more to allow for supporting materials to be developed, like super sweet skulls and shifters, mixed with typography. Materials like these and the brand itself can be seen on the Speed Shop’s new Velocity network show, Speed is the New Black.


Online Brand Identity
The final piece of this brand identity puzzle is to create materials on which both of these brands could live. We built a WordPress multi-site for the Studio and Speed Shop brands to allow their internal team to control content updates, projects, and inventory all under the same roof. Producing one design scheme for both brands also allows us to stay within a budget and maintain a consistent experience across both websites.
